This is a challenging one for me to understand because I love reading and always have and always will. Do you hate it because you feel like you're no good at it? 'Cause you'll only get better by doing more of it.
At least, reading and writing is still the primary way important information is conveyed. The more you read, the better you will become at communicating information and story -- even if ultimately those words are put on video or a recording.
The best for me is that I can find out about other people and places even when I'm standing still. I learn more about someone I might not understand. I learn more about myself (who can be just as hard to understand!) There are a lot of people on this planet, and without empathy we will all destroy one another.
I recommend books all the time, but I would need to know more about what you like and don't like to give you suggestions.
